The main source of heat is forced air furnace. The thermostat is on the wall to your right of the bathroom.

There is a also a propane fireplace that you are welcome to use. Pull down the grated section below the glass of the fireplace to see the controls. You will see a switch on the left side, the switch will normally be in the middle position (with an icon of a flame with an 'X' running through it). Press the dial up to turn on the flame. You will see a dial near the middle of the panel with the labels 'LO' and 'HI', turn this dial to control the heat. If you wish to turn off the fireplace just flip the 'ON/OFF' switch back to the middle position.

There are also baseboard heaters in both bedrooms as well as the side room with the pullout couch (it’s underneath the TV stand). In case you’re still chilly there are a few space heaters hidden in closets, feel free to help yourself.

You’re welcome to use the record player if you wish, please handle with care. The switch to turn on the amp is underneath the shelf where the record player sits. Bend down and look underneath and you will see the control.

The water that runs out of the taps is from lake Ontario. There is a cooler for drinking water in the kitchen and extra bottles for the cooler are in the white cupboards to the left of the front door.

The water pump is in a closet in the back bedroom, you may hear it making some noises when someone is showering or using the washing machine - these noises are normal.

Please do not flush any Kleenex or tampons down the toilet. Our septic system is fragile, please only flush toilet paper down the toilet.

You’re welcome to use the washing machine if you wish.

We ask that you please stay out of the attic.

Outside

There is no direct access to the waterfront.

The phone number and permit number are highlighted on the burn permit inside the guestbook.

You’re welcome to use the BBQ if you like, please let us know if you run out of propane.

There is coffee, tea and coffee filters in the second drawer beside the fridge, please help yourself.
